Walnut Step Stool
Wedged
A low walnut step stool with a thick figured top, its legs joined with wedged through-tenons left visible on top.
The legs pass right through the seat, and each tenon is wedged from above so it can’t work loose. On top, the tenon ends and their contrasting wedges make a small pattern at each corner.
The seat is cut from walnut with rippling figure and rounded over at every edge, so it’s comfortable underfoot and pleasant to pick up.
