Dovetailed Box in Cherry, Maple and Walnut
Ripple
A small dovetailed cherry box with a curly maple lid panel and floor, walnut liners and brass hinges.
Curly maple has a rippling shimmer that shifts as you tilt it. Here it’s used for the lid panel and the floor, framed by warm cherry sides joined with dovetails at the corners.
Thin walnut liners run around the inside, drawing a dark line between the two lighter woods. Brass hinges hold the lid, and small brass bumpers on the rim cushion it as it closes.
