Walnut Picture Frame
Pinned Corner
A walnut frame for an oil painting, its corners joined with through mortise-and-tenons and pinned with walnut dowels.
Most picture frames are held together with a mitre and a hidden fastener. This one uses furniture joinery instead: each corner is a through mortise-and-tenon, pinned with a dowel.
The end of the tenon shows on the outside edge as a neat rectangle of end grain — a small, honest detail that tells you how the frame is made.
